​What Can I Do? Participation in community efforts is one way to help. The UP2US Now Child Abuse Prevention Coalition is working to raise awareness and improve child abuse prevention and response in our county. Providing support and encouragement to parents is another way to help. Parenting is the hardest and most important job any of us will ever do. Encourage parents who you see are struggling. Be a compassionate listener, provide child care respite or find other ways to help friends and family who are parenting. If you know or suspect a child is being mistreated or neglected, make a report, help families get the help they need. Child abuse is everyone’s problem. Take a parent skill building class.
